Lifestyle blog and think pieces for the modern woman dealing with mental illness. My mission is to champion de-stigmatization through honesty, vulnerability, and encouragement. After visiting Bummed Out Bailey, I want to leave you feeling like you’ve just had cathartic cocktails with a dear friend: understood, enlightened, and… maybe slightly buzzed.
Hello, and welcome!
My name is Bailey Powell Aldrich and I am the writer, photographer, cook, and wannabe comedian behind Bummed Out Bailey, a blog about mental illness.
Most of my life has been spent trying to make sense of, cater to, or mask my depression and anxiety. It’s exhausting. Often I’ve felt misunderstood, helpless, and so, so alone. So, Bummed Out Bailey was born, a safe haven where you’ll find transparency on mental illness.
I live in New York City with my husband Rick and am currently in grad school working toward my M.F.A. in Creative Writing, Nonfiction at The New School. I love black clothes and my two XXL golden retrievers, which means I spend a lot of time with a lint-roller. I deeply value inclusion, word impeccability, and kindness.
Ultimately, I’m here to provide community and laughter to those suffering from mental illness or those in close proximity to someone suffering from mental illness.
I’m so happy you’re here, and I hope you like what you find.
